Form your team

1

HOLD YOUR TRYOUTS

Most teams hold tryouts in the Fall to form their Spring League team. If you would like us to post your flyer on our website and social media, send it to: olguine@pueblocounty.us . Field availability is very limited. If you cannot find a field, please send a contact us or call the office to see if we can accommodate your tryout date. Runyon allows 15 athletes on the roster and 4 coaches per team.
*We highly suggest revealing your tryout results in-person so that parents have a chance to talk to you or you can give pointers on how to improve for a better outcome. Runyon is NOT responsible for forming your team or the results of your tryouts.

VERIFY PLAYER'S AGE

Runyon will have Baseball Age Divisions - 8U Coach Pitch, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, & 14U Player Pitch (No Modifications). We will have Softball Age Division - 8U Coach Pitch, 10U, 12U & 14U. There will only be 3 grade exemptions allowed per team, if needed. Please check the rules for the age cut off dates and exemption explanations. As a coach, it is your responsibility to check ages from the player's birth certificate. Keeping a copy of it may be a good idea to verify age if there is a discrepancy. Runyon is NOT responsible to hold the birth certificates.

PREPARE FOR THE ONLINE ROSTER

Once you are registered, you will have to input all of your players into the online roster into team sideline. A great way to collect this information is to have the parents fill out an emergency contact form.
You will need to collect the following information:

  • Player Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Grade
  • Parent's Name
  • Parent's Phone Number
  • Parent's Email Address
  • Parent's Mailing Address

4

COMMUNICATION W/ PARENTS & BUDGET

Communication amongst coaches and parents is one of the most important priorities. We suggest that you have a group text or messaging app for your team communication. Expenses such as player fees and uniform fees should be established early and fundraising efforts should be planned, if needed. Let the parents know what is included in these fees at the beginning. Being as transparent as possible is key. Runyon is NOT responsible for any teams money, budget, or communication between parents and coaches. The only fees that need to be paid to Runyon is the team registration fee for League or a Tournament. That should be paid as a whole and come from the coach/manager, either via Team Sideline account or the cash/check in the office. Reminder: if you use a card online or in the office, there is a 3% credit card fee.
